We’re proud to share that Logan City Council has been recognised for excellence in urban design at the 2025 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) Queensland Awards – and TLCC was honoured to be part of this transformative project.
The Croydon Road Precinct Revitalisation was awarded in the Urban Design category, acknowledged for its powerful impact on community life and its thoughtful reimagining of public space in Logan Central. Previously a vehicle-heavy, under-utilised shopping street, Croydon Road has been reshaped into a safe, vibrant and culturally rich precinct – a place that now invites people to gather, shop and stay longer.
A collaborative, community-led transformation
The revitalisation project, jointly funded by Logan City Council and the Queensland Government, set out to create a more inclusive and engaging environment between Station Road and Blackwood Road. Through climate-sensitive street design, public art and flexible spaces for markets and food culture, the revitalised precinct now reflects the unique character and cultural identity of Woodridge.
AILA’s judges described the project as a “replicable model of equity-focused civic improvement,” and praised its ability to deliver social and economic transformation through design that empowers local communities.
TLCC’s role in delivery
As the principal contractor, TLCC worked alongside Logan City Council’s Parks and Design teams, ensuring the project was delivered with minimal disruption to the community. Our team, led by Project Manager Sam Lock, went above and beyond to construct a complex site while maintaining access for local businesses and keeping the project aligned with the original design intent – all while staying on budget.
We’d like to acknowledge the incredible collaboration across council teams — from design and consultation to project management, visual communication and ongoing trader engagement. It was a pleasure to work with such dedicated professionals who brought passion and purpose to every stage of the project.
A lasting impact for Woodridge
The Croydon Road Precinct Revitalisation is not only a well-deserved award winner – it’s a real example of what can be achieved when community, design and construction come together with a shared vision.
We’re incredibly proud to have played a role in shaping this now-celebrated public space and congratulate Logan City Council on this outstanding recognition.
